Why it matters
Many highly able learners in Latin America go unrecognized because they don’t fit traditional definitions of giftedness. Others may struggle with social-emotional needs, twice-exceptionality (2e), or disconnection from the school system. The HAGT LatAm Conference shines a light on these learners and offers strategies that are inclusive, sustainable, and grounded in best practice.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the LatAm Conference, participants will be able to:
Design culturally responsive gifted education practices that account for linguistic diversity, contextual equity, and regional educational constraints in Latin America.
Implement equitable identification and assessment strategies for high-ability and twice-exceptional learners in under-resourced or multilingual environments.
Differentiate instruction across classroom populations by creating tiered, inquiry-driven, and extension tasks that engage gifted learners while supporting peers.
Foster social-emotional growth and identity development in gifted learners, especially in contexts of under-recognition, perfectionism, and asynchronous development.
Leverage community, family, and school partnerships to advocate for and sustain support systems for high-ability learners (including parent education, policy advocacy, and school programming).
Integrate real classroom case studies from Latin America to analyze challenges, successes, and scalable strategies in gifted education across diverse settings.
Develop actionable plans or protocols to begin, expand, or refine gifted education initiatives in your school or district—even with limited resources.
Cultivate a regional professional learning network of Latin American educators and specialists committed to growth, collaboration, and shared problem-solving.
Educators, researchers, coordinators, psychologists, and school leaders from across Latin America will come together for a transformative one-day experience focused on designing, implementing, and leading high-quality programs for high-ability and gifted learners in our regional context.
Whether your school is just beginning to explore gifted education or you’re looking to deepen and scale an existing initiative, HAGT LatAm Conference 2025 will provide inspiration, tools, and a strong professional learning community.
