What is the HAGT LatAm Conference?

The HAGT LatAm Conference is a regional online gathering designed to support the needs of highly able, gifted, and talented learners in Latin America. This full-day webinar, with sessions in Spanish & English, brings together educators, school leaders, and specialists who are passionate about equity, excellence, and inclusion in gifted education.

Rooted in the belief that giftedness exists in every country, language, and classroom, the conference offers a space to learn, reflect, and build better systems of support for learners who often go unseen or misunderstood.

Special Parent Session

Following the main conference, we’ll host a dedicated webinar just for parents and caregivers. This session will focus on:

  • Understanding giftedness and twice-exceptionality in your child

  • Advocating for your child’s needs at school

  • Navigating emotional intensity, perfectionism, and asynchronous development

  • Creating a home environment that supports both challenge and connection

What you can expect

  • Practical, classroom-ready strategies to support high-ability learners.

  • Culturally responsive practices tailored to Latin American contexts.

  • Real-world stories and experiences from regional educators and experts.

  • Opportunities to network and collaborate with like-minded professionals who care about excellence and equity.

  • Sessions that emphasize strengths-based approaches and actionable next steps for schools.

Why it matters

Many highly able learners in Latin America go unrecognized because they don’t fit traditional definitions of giftedness. Others may struggle with social-emotional needs, twice-exceptionality (2e), or disconnection from the school system. The HAGT LatAm Conference shines a light on these learners and offers strategies that are inclusive, sustainable, and grounded in best practice.
